This diptych depicts the town of Tui, situated on the River Guadalquivir. A compact southern Spanish town with terracotta roofs, closely packed houses and the characteristic bright light of Andalusia.

M.J. Caballero Toro, who specialises in southern Spanish landscapes and cityscapes, brings together the layered architecture and the tranquillity of the water in a clear, recognisable image.

The two narrow panels form a single whole and are best displayed side by side, with a small gap between them.
